Position Description

We have an opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver in Atlanta GA and we want the right Driver to join us at Ryder

Pay: $1800 OR MORE a Week No Less Only More

  • Hourly Pay: $27.00 Per Hour with Overtime. 
    • Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
  • Per Diem Pay: NOT TAXED $50 per night 
    • Nights out are in a Ryder Provided Hotel or Sleeper
  • Sign On Bonus: Pays you $2500 at 30 days and $2500 at 90 days
  • Schedule: Monday- Friday - Must be Flexible 

Ryder Trucks are Three Years or Newer

  • Deliver SOLO To: Southeast; NC, GA, SC and AL. Possible Deliveries to Other Locations in the US
  • Tractor Type: Sleepers and Day Cabs 
    • Trailer Type: 48' - 53' Flatbed, Dry Van, Reefer, Conestoga and Curtainside 
  • Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
    • Equipment: Lift Gate, Pallet Jack, Forklift and Moffett
  • Load Securement: Strapping, Tarping or Chaining 
    • Freight: Touch/ No Touch - Varies by Account 
  • Endorsements: Hazmat - Required at Time of Hire

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note:  Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
