Position Description

Immediate opening for a Solo Class A CDL Truck Driver and we want the right Trucker to join us at Ryder in Baltimore, MD

Drivers earn $1850 Average Weekly and it gets better

 

  • Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly
  • Weekly Guarantee $1250 per week
  • Hourly Pay: $27.00 Per Hour
  • Overtime Paid After 40 Hours
  • Hours Per Week: 40 + hours per week
  • Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night 
  • Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or Sleeper
  • Paid Travel
  • Sign on Bonus: $500 - pays you $250 at 30 days & $250 after 90 days
  • Tenure Bonus: Pays You $1000 each year you are with the company from Nov. 1- to Oct. 31
  • Paid Training
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday - Must be Flexible 

 

Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers Service the Route, not the Truck. All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities. 

 

  • Deliver SOLO To: VA, MD, DE, PA, NC, NJ and NY
  • Tractor Type: Day Cab, Sleeper and 26' Straight Truck 
  • Trailer Type: 48' - 53’ Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, Conestoga and Curtainside
  • 1 year Flatbed experience required
  • Must be able to operate manual transmission
  • Equipment: Pallet Jacks, Rollers, Moffett and Lift Gate
  • Freight: Touch/No Touch - Varies by Account 
  • Load Securement – Strapping, Tarping and Chaining

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note:  Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
