Position Description

Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver and we want the right Driver to join us at Ryder in Hanover Township, PA also domiciling in East Hartford, CT

$1600 or more per week - And it gets better

 

  • Driver Positions Pay Weekly
  • Route: Regional nights out 2 - 3
  • Borough Trip Pay: $65.00 per Trip
  • Solo Miles Pay: $0.685 per Mile with 1800 Miles per Week
  • Solo Stops Pay: $22.55 per Stop with 20 Stops per Week
  • Per Diem Pay: $40.00 per night out
  • Overnight for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel
  • Sign On Bonus: Pays you $1000 at 30 days and $1000 at 90 days
  • Paid Training
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Start Time: 2:00 AM - 4:00 AM

Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers Service the Route, not the Truck. All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities. 

 

  • Deliver SOLO To: CT, MA, ME, RI, MD, VA, NY and NJ (including 5 boroughs)
  • Tractor Type: Day Cab
  • Trailer Type: Dry Van, 42' - 53'
  • Equipment: Manual and Electric Pallet Jack
  • Ryder will Train you on all equipment needed to be successful
  • Freight: Touch – Hardware Products
  • Endorsements: Hazmat - Within 90 Days of Hire
  • We Reimburse Cost and Provide Training Support for Endorsements

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note:  Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
