Immediate opening! We have an opening for a Class A CDL Regional Truck Driver and we want the right Driver to join us at Ryder in Kansas City, KS

Drivers are averaging $2100+ or more per week - And it gets better! Top 10% of our drivers at this location make $115k+/year!

  • Ryder Drivers are Paid Weekly
  • Hourly Pay: $26.00 Per Hour Base Pay Plus Additional $1 for Every 3 Certifications/Endorsements
  • Overtime Paid After 40 Hours
  • Hours Per Week: 40 + hours per week
  • Per Diem Pay: $50.00 per night 
  • Overnights for Route in Ryder Booked Hotel or Sleeper
  • Paid Travel
  • Tenure Bonus: Pays You $1000 each year you are with the company from Nov. 1- to Oct. 31
  • Freight: Mix of Touch/No Touch – Product Varies
  • Paid Training
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday - Must be Flexible

  • Deliver SOLO To: IL, WI, MO, MN, KS, IA, NE, ND and SD
  • Tractor Type: Day Cab and Sleeper - Possibility of 26' Straight Truck
  • Trailer Type: 48' - 53' Flatbed, Dry Van, Reefer, Conestoga, Curtainside and Container
  • Equipment: Manual Pallet Jack, Rollers, Lift Gate and Moffett
  • Load Securement – Strapping, Tarping and Chaining

 

Trucks are three years or newer. Ryder Drivers Service the Route, not the Truck. All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
  • Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
    • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
    • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
    • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Performs other duties as assigned
